Maths Groups Week 9
Hello Everyone,
Every Friday KP and KB have Maths Groups. We open up the middle doors and students can choose from a varied selection of numeracy, measurement and shape activities. There is usually a focus each week that is related to the topics we have been looking at during the week. This week we have been measuring and comparing shorter and longer items and looking at repeating patterns.

Buddies Week 9
Hello Everyone,
KB enjoyed visiting 5Y's classroom for the first time. We enjoyed watching a slideshow of Year 5's camp. WOW! what a great time they had fishing, water slides, sailing, swimming, Christian studies and lots of other exciting activities.
After the slideshow, the Year 5 students read and shared picture books with KB.

Literacy Groups
Hello Everyone,
In literacy groups this week we played Sight Word Snap, made the letter Rr and a 'R' picture with playdough, wrote the sight words and some sentences on the small whiteboards, played Alphabet Pairs and phoneme board games. While the activities are occurring, one group reads with the teacher.

Science and Design
Hello Everyone,
This week the students were asked 'What would you build a house out of?'
After much discussion the students were asked to build a small cardboard house in pairs. Next week they will make a lego house and then 'test' both of them to see what happens.

KP and KB visit the Senior School
Hello Everyone,
This week, as part of our HSIE unit called School Days we walked around the senior school to identify different places at school.
KP saw the 3D printer in the computer lab and Mrs Irwin explained how it worked.
KB went into the Food Technology rooms and saw some big kids ready to start their lesson.
We all enjoyed visiting the senior library, canteen, basketball courts, senior study centre and gym.
We also saw a skeleton dressed up and looking out of the science window!
Little legs were very tired as we walked back up to the classroom.

Lots Of Fun and Learning In Kindy Week7
Hello Everyone,
Hasn't the week flown by? There has been lots of learning and fun in Kindergarten this week.
In library, we have been looking at a new author, Pamela Allen and have loved hearing her stories.
In Mandarin, we have been learning a song about friends and have been singing and marching around the room.
KP had fun making fire-engines for the weekly letter and phoneme 'F' with their buddies.
KB painted fish with some fluro colours.
A big thank you to our Parent Helpers that started this week and last week, listening to our students read, taking a maths group and assisting with art. The children were very excited to see their parents helping in the classroom.
We hope you enjoy our photos this week.
During buddy time, KB were experimenting with some different apps on the i-Pads and their buddies were great 'teachers'.
We hope and pray that our buddies have a safe and wonderful time at camp from Wednesday to Friday. I'm sure the Kindy children have missed seeing them in the playground.
