Sight Word Hunt
Hello Everyone,
We were on the hunt today for 'hidden' sight words. Students had to look all over the classroom to find their words on the list.
It was a great way to practise our sight words and 'detective' skills.

This Week in Science
Hello Everyone,
This week we looked at different temperatures in our Weather Unit. We went outside on a cold, wet day and discussed how we felt in contrast with being indoors.
We then divided the grade into two groups and felt cool air (from a fan) and heated air (from a small heater). To complete the lesson we made paper fans.
During the week we filled in a daily weather table (morning and afternoon) to observe how weather changes during the day and students have been practising their reporting skills by taking turns to formally report on the weather forecast. (microphone and spectacles included)
I think we have some future weather reporters in training!

KB Book Week Characters
Hello Everyone,
KB really enjoyed dressing up as their favourite character on Friday.
We had some time in the classroom to talk about each book and character and then participated in the special Book Week K-6 assembly.
We had some delightful characters this year.

Grandparent's Day
KB enjoyed having their grandparents visiting the classroom, sharing a picnic lunch inside the classroom where it was warm and performing in the concert.
Despite the cold weather outside, it was a wonderful to see so many grandparents and children enjoying the time spent together.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Exercise Program
THRASS and Science in Week 3
Hello Everyone,
KB experimented with the large floor THRASS mat this week and had to jump all over the mat as they sounded out words.
It was a very exciting way to learn how to use our THRASS chart.
In Science, we looked at the different weather words and had to match them to the appropriate symbols.
