Mini- Fete Photos

Hello Everyone,
Year 6 planned a wonderful fundraising event today. Our students loved participating in all the activities.
Thanks to Year 6 and their teachers for such a successful afternoon event. There will be some very tired children tonight!

Snapshots of week 8

Hello Everyone,
It's been a very productive week for catching up on lessons in Science and HSIE.
In Science, the students were given the task of experimenting with a variety of equipment to discover which items could roll. We had some interesting discussions that linked to 3D objects in maths about the curved and flat faces of an object.
In our second Science lesson, the students had to construct two ramps. One bumpy and one smooth and roll a variety of  items down the ramps. Observations and discussion followed up an interesting lesson on how to conduct a 'fair test'.

Year 2 have been studying celebrations for their HSIE unit this term. As part of the unit, they have to plan an event, organise food, games and invitations. They delivered their invitations to Kindergarten on Thursday. We are looking forward to the celebration on Monday and suggest a light lunch again for Kindergarten.

Show and Tell Visit From Year 1

Hello Everyone,
Kindergarten had a visit this week from Year 1 to 'Show and Tell' all about learning the violin and cello.
The Year 1's played for us Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and then they paired off to have a look at the instruments
It also gave the Kinders an opportunity to play the instruments and think about which string instrument they would like to choose for next year.
They can have all of the holidays to think about it and will be asked next year about their preferences.
Here are some photos from the afternoon.

Sound Of the Week

Hello Everyone,
Sorry for the delay of the Kindy News for Week 7 which usually informs you of our sound of the week.

This week's sound of the week can have two sounds ('oo' as in cook and 'oo' as in moon)
Happy hunting for items that may have those sounds.

We'll send through the Kindy News as soon as it has been checked and passed onto us.

Kind regards,
Mrs Leanne Blake   and Mrs Nicole Collins

Week 5 Update

Hello Everyone,

It has been an interesting week in KB.

We have been rehearsing our 'Wombat Divine' Nativity play with lots of laughs and a few groans (from the teachers!) as we have been coordinating 44 children to act and learn their different parts.
The students are getting excited as the total play is coming together. I'm sure you have heard updates from them about their characters etc.
We appreciate your help with finding clothes to be worn on the day. Mrs Collins and I were very excited when we found some of the nativity costumes stored in the drama costume storeroom.

In our literacy unit this week we read Alison Lester's Magic Beach and enjoyed the imaginative tales in the book. The students had to write about something they could do on a sand dune. We had some very imaginative writing.

Swimming lessons were also a new school experience for Kindy. They all managed to change and get on the bus. There were squeals of excitement as the bus drove us to the pool. Can you imagine how loud 44 children can be on a bus? We had to have 5 minutes of silence before we arrived! The children were tested in small groups and then given different coloured caps to determine which group they will be put into next week. They had a wonderful time and enjoyed the new experience.

Hope you can make our Assembly on Friday 14 November commencing at 11:00am.

Mrs Leanne Blake
